Report: OZZY OSBOURNE's Early Home Up For Sale
December 20, 2003James Carteledge of ic Birmingham is reporting that a rural retreat once owned by Ozzy Osbourne is up for a sale at £475,000 (approximately $840,000).
Ozzy lived at Bullrush Cottage in Ranton Green, near Stafford, with his first wife Thelma Mayfair more than 20 years ago and now current owners Phillipa and Roland Stigwood are looking to sell the property.
The cottage stands in about an acre of land and boasts four bedrooms and a separate annexe featuring extra lounge, dining and bedroom space.
Potential buyers are told of the property's famous former owner on estate agent Reeds Rains' web site (check out pictures of the property here). "This home was once occupied by the famous Ozzy Osbourne, being a great retreat for those wishing to get away from it all but yet within close reach of all amenities," it says.
Phillipa said Osbourne, originally from Aston, was still popular in the area after buying a sports field for children to use.
"Personally I'm not a fan but Ozzy is well thought of around here because he bought a field for youngsters to play football on," she said.
"There is also a famous story about him shooting chickens in the garden, apparently after he had a big row with Thelma.
"He seems to have become a bit of an institution and we have had interest in the property but we don't want people coming round just to sight-see."
